The ADVANCE program at Croxton is supported by the Department of Health and Human Services, and:
- Fosters leadership, respect and independence skills
- Prepares students for community connections and employment
- Has expectations around model behaviour and respect
We do this through partnerships with other organisations such as YMCA and Cricket Victoria. The students also participate in recognised training such as First Aid and General Principles of Coaching, and undertake a series of volunteering activities, plan celebrations and are involved in all aspects of decision making.
It is open to students that meet the selection criteria in Secondary through to VCAL at both the Northcote and Thornbury Campuses. As part of the celebration component of the course students attend a subsidised camp each year with Aquatics as the focus. The students help to plan this camp. At the end of each term students have a celebration with a special activity and food.
